St. Joseph’s | Candler Danny Brown Laboratory in Savannah, GA
Batson Associates designed a state-of the-art centralized laboratory to serve multiple hospitals and medical offices in Savannah, Georgia. Lab equipment, particularly the Siemens Aptio automated line, requires specific under-floor and above-ceiling utilities for plumbing and electrical. Making this happen is no simple task, especially in a 30 year old building working around existing structure, and underground utilities. Coordination between Batson Associates, Siemens, and the contractor were conducted to ensure a seamless installation. New windows add natural light to the laboratory and the spacious employee breakroom. In addition, the lab connects to the main hospital by way of a 500-foot underground pneumatic tube system.
