Greenville, SC – August 22, 2024 – Batson Associates is proud to announce the grand opening of the Prisma Health Roger C. Peace Adaptive Sports and Wellness Center. Batson was engaged by Prisma Health to design a facility that enhances accessibility and reduces health inequalities throughout the upstate. Located in Unity Park, this 9,000-square-foot center offers specialized rehabilitation and wellness programs for individuals of all abilities.

Nestled into a popular Greenville landmark, the Adaptive Sports and Wellness Center provides patrons with direct access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Nicole Lindemer, project architect with Batson, expressed her passion for creating a welcoming space for everyone to participate in active, inclusive wellness.

"Through design, we were able to ensure that this is a place where everyone, regardless of ability, can engage in fitness and wellness activities," said Lindemer. "This project is a testament to the importance of inclusivity in design."

The center features advanced therapeutic equipment, including adaptive cycles, exoskeleton devices, and a Solo-Step overhead track system. Designed with inclusivity in mind, the center provides physical, occupational, and recreational therapy, as well as cancer prevention services.

Roger C. Peace Supervisor of Recreational Therapy, Danielle Fitzmorris, shared the importance of Unity Park’s newest addition.

“This is helping to increase access to adaptive sports and health and wellness for community members,” Fitzmorris continues. “I’m excited to see this place being used every day while providing access for people to get out and live life regardless of ability.”

Celebrating the grand opening and commemorating the ceremonial welcoming of community members to the wellness center, Batson is honored to have partnered with Prisma Health and Caldwell Constructors to build the Roger C. Peace Adaptive Sports and Wellness Center.
